The practice

The specialists behind the wire

Real names, verifiable registrations — the standard every clinic should meet.

Every treatment plan on our clinic is designed and supervised by a certified specialist in orthodontics — a dentist who completed an additional two-to-three-year accredited residency devoted entirely to moving teeth and guiding growing jaws, then registered as a specialist with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals. Here’s who’s behind the wire.

Certified Specialist in Orthodontics

Dr. Alireza Haerian Ardekani

Dr. Haerian treats children, teens and adults at the Coquitlam clinic — from first age-7 checks through complex braces and Invisalign cases. Families know him for unhurried consultations where every option gets explained in plain language, digital simulation included, before anyone talks about signing.

Certified Specialist · Network Founder

Dr. Aly Kanani, DMD, MSc Ortho

Dr. Kanani reviewing orthodontic treatment results with a patient at myORTHODONTIST Coquitlam.

Founder of the myORTHODONTIST network, Dr. Kanani has treated more than 30,000 patients across two decades in BC, with specialty training from McGill and dental education at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Sapphire-tier Invisalign provider — a case-volume tier held by roughly the top half-percent of providers worldwide — and a former UBC Faculty of Dentistry clinical instructor.

How the team practises

Specialist diagnosis on every case; every option — metal, ceramic and self-ligating braces plus the full Invisalign family — honestly compared; airway-aware screening at every assessment; and close teamwork with your family dentist, who stays your oral-health quarterback throughout treatment. Credentials are public: both doctors’ specialist registrations can be verified on the BCCOHP registry, and we encourage exactly that.

Meet them in person the easy way — the consultation is free.

How it works at our practice

Dr. Haerian treats patients at the Coquitlam clinic day to day; Dr. Kanani founded the network and remains involved in complex cases and clinical standards. Both are Certified Specialists in Orthodontics registered with BCCOHP, and both would rather you looked that up than took our word for it.

Start with an examination

Your first visit is free, and it comes with an honest answer.

We'll look at the bite, take the records that make a real diagnosis possible, and tell you plainly whether braces are the right tool — what it would involve, how long it would take, and what it would cost, in writing. If the right answer is "not yet," we'll say that too and see you again when the timing is right.
